In 2001 I found out I could sing D G and A on key by singing along with Wings of a Dove......on of all things a late night record offer. Sounds like a very little thing.... it wasn't. I had voice lessons in 1990s I could never make it work. Well 2003 I started performing solo. In June of 2008 I was down card act for Hank Jr. in Marion SC stop on the Rowdy Friends Tour. In 2009 I have the most viewed performance on TheOvationGuitars youtube channel, still is in fact. None of that would have happened had I not discovered Ferlin Husky’s music. I am only in my 40’s, I have no real active memories of him in his prime. His music and style was timeless. I hope younger people keep his art alive.

I just loved him as a singer and for his personality. I love watching him on the Family Reunion series. I am so thankful I have all those shows with him on them.

I remember my cousin coming to visit from DC and tell me about this song called GONE that was all over the air waves. Within weeks after she left, it hit Baltimore like a bomb and just stayed and stayed in the top 10. She bought me a copy during her visit, and to this day, it's still In my collection and still gets played regularly. IT was my song. RIP Mr Husky and thank you for those memories.

Back in the late 50s or early 60s my mother and dad saw Ferlin in Traverse City, Michigan. My mother adored Ferlin and followed him, in his Cadillac, to Grand Rapids to see his next show. Somewhere along the way, Ferlin stopped at a red light. My mother didn't. She ran into the back of his car. When I was younger, in the 60s, I saw Ferlin at the Lansing Civic Center many times. Loved his music. He was great! R.I.P. Ferlin.
