My mother gave me her 45s and her LPs. I'd never heard of him, but just listened to "On the Wings of a Dove" and realized I did know at least one of his songs. I'm always excited when famous people are from Missouri. Looking forward to listening to all of the 45s and learning all of his songs. He sounds like he was quite the character!

I was in the USAF in Taipei, Taiwan, in 1962 when Ferlin came to do a show at our airman's club. I claimed a front row table 4 hours ahead of time and waited. Some people are singers, some are pickers, but Ferlin was an ENTERTAINER! Well worth the 4 hour wait. In 1969 we moved to Hendersonville and Ferlin lived on Old Hickory Lake about a mile from our house. Would see him in the yard many times. Ferlin has never been given the credit he is rightfully due in country music.

I'm 77 years old now. Ferlin has been a favorite entertainer of mine for years and years and I sadly miss him. He put more love, feeling and care into a song than anyone I have ever heard sing. It bothers me no end that I never got to meet him in person and express my feelings to him, but I'll never forget him.
