Ferlin Husky was/is one of my all time favorite singers...my family says when I sing at church that I remind them of Ferlin with the way I move my face... I'm wanting to find out about his movies, I got the Hillbillies ones..I seen on youtube Somewhere There's Sunshine, it looks as if it was off a movie would like to get it...also when I buy the Grand ol opera shows I love for the ones with Ferlin on them...

I had the pleasure to listen to Ferlin at Midwest County theater in Sandstone, MN some years back. Now, small world as it is, I was thrilled to meet Ferlin's brother-in-law Orlo yesterday at Springhill, MN. My boyfriends band played there, and Orlo's son plays bass for the band that my boyfriend has played in for over 20 years! Orlo got up to sing and play bass, and OH MY, what a wonderful voice and an awesome man! Orlo's whole family is so nice!! It was my pleasure to meet Orlo, his wife, and their kids and grandkids!!! What an awesome day it was!!! Kathy

I had the great pleasure of working in Ferlin's backup band 20 years ago. As great an entertainer as he was, he was an even great person. It was on of the highlights of my 20 plus years on the road.

In 1961, my folks bought out another family's furniture. Among the pieces was an upright Philco radio with a little 45-rpm player on top. There was a box of 45's, including Ferlin's "Gone". It was the most powerful thing I'd ever heard. I was a sophomore in HS; I played that record so many times I wore it out. Unforgettable. What a treasure, Ferlin Husky.
